Newb Audio Question..
Newb Audio Question..
So I don't know jack about audio systems, but basically I want to play Mp3's in my car via my portable player. It's a Samsung YP-U2J. My thinking is that all I have to do is buy an aftermarket stereo and plug it into the AUX Input on the receiver, and It's good to go. Am I correct?
Yeah, all that you have to do is get the correct size connections, on mine it is a mini plug (3/32") or I have also seen some units take a standard 1/8" plug. Once you plug it in then just go to you aux channel to listen to it. Most MP3 players are not as loud when you go through a cd player so if you have a SLA feature on you head unit then make sure to turn it up. If you don't then just make sure that you turn down your volume before you go back to listening to a cd or the radio cause it can get kinda loud.
You can find some radios that have an AUX plug on the front for MP3s or even a CD player cause my friend has an older HU with a plug on the front so you would just need a headphone jack with to male ends. But look around and you should be able to find a HU designed to hook up to an MP3 player especially now.
I have my ipod hooked up to my Alpine HU thro an extra box so it uses the fancy ipod connection so I get full volume and quality plus it'll charge it too!

Look at this i am not sure what year of car you have but it works great, I have a 2003 lx and as long as you have a cd changer output on your factory radio you can use this.

Should buy one of thoes headunits with the USB slot on the front... now how dope would that be to plug in 2 gigs of music for a road trip and not have to touch it, or download the latest track and play it in your as soon as its finished downloading, or be driving around town, find a wireless hotspot, download a track, and play it on your car's system right after.
