new battery

im looking to get a new battery for my car. is it a pretty safe assumption to say that optima is the best? would you get the red top or yellow? i do have a pretty large system but thats about it, no neons or anything. also i have a small power inverter that i use to power various things when needed.

good answers guys...way to help out. Yea its safe to say that. I had one in my car just for the hell of it. I had a small system set up and just got it because i had the money. It stopped the dimming on my lights a lil and looked nice. I had a red top... It handles alot of power so its a good deal. Go for it.

optima is not the best battrey you can buy, they are good Very good, i have a kintics 1400 and its a very good battery as well, there is also some super duty off road battery that will kill all batteries but its to damn big for our cars. what do you want out of your battery ( do you need it for a system, kinetics is great for that its a capcitor style battery, are you going to be doing hard cornering/off road driving, optima is good for that its a gell cell battery and very resistant to shcok, are you going to be just driving a normal car with no system and no hard driving, a normal battery that is much cheaper is fine.

well the optima runs around 200 ( on the high end ), the kinetics 1400 runs liek 270 ( could be more ), and the every ready/everlast/etc are usually like 60-100 from what i have seen, how many watts are you running for your system, do you have an upgraded alt, and do you run a cap?

just curious, I went to pepboys and they said the Optima Yellow and Red Top battery is a special order for the 2002 Honda Civic....whatever....anyone purchased one online, I mean how many 2002 honda civic's were sold, it should be a pretty common battery I guess?
