Keyless remote for 2003 LX sedan
Keyless remote for 2003 LX sedan
Recently purchased 2003 LX Sedan color GG - asked dealer to install keyless and security. Dealer says keyless no longer available from Honda. I checked numerous dealer sites and called others - same story . Anyone aware of any Honda dealers who may have a keyless unit in stock??
Options - would an 02, 04 or 05 unit work?
How about aftermarket?

Keyless became standard on 04 models. You missed it by a year.
I looked at a few locations and they show the keyless entry option only as discontinued, but the security option is still available ($120-$125) Includes 2 remotes.
The OEM part # I saw was 08ES0-S5D-101

Thanks. The security system is available, but can not be installed w/o keyless, and supposedly won't work w/aftermarket keyless. I asked why it's still available, and was told for those who originally purchased keyless who may wish to add security sys now.

Oh.. I had a Sentra that I added the keyless system that Crutchfield sells for $70. It works with your LXs power lock option and has a great range, Or possibly a complete alarm system then you can add the Accord trunk pop option to as well.
After getting my locks damaged by some idiot with a screwdriver, I got a DEI keyless entry installed at Circuit City for $120. That was actually cheaper than getting the locks replaced. By the way, I have the same model and year that you have.

my 02 ES1 didn't have keyless. i looked into getting it from the dealer, but by the time you bought the module, remotes and got the chips programmed, it was going to be over $300. and that wasn't even with the security either. security was another $150 or something. so instead, i got a viper alarm installed for $200. it performs the same function of keyless entry (lock unlock with remote) plus it has the alarm.
