Anybody used a metra dash kit when installing a new headunit?? Mine doesn't fit too well

HAHA Mohawk! I tryed a second Metra kit and it fit a bit better, still not as good as I would like.

my metra kit doesn't really fit... basically, I'm just using the faceplate part of the kit to surround the deck... my JVC KD-SX980 is mounted using the metal sleeve it comes with onto the car's bracket. I didn't think it was a good idea to have the plastic part of the kit touching the heat sink (on the side).

now I just need to use something to fix the metra faceplate onto the console

I am getting ready to install a KD-SX980 in my civic. I am thinking of just using the Face Place because I do not want to get rid of my OEM Pocket. How do you like it. I really liked the unit for the price and quality. Let me know. Thanks...

everykit may be slightly different so just return it and try a new one or reinstall it and see what happens
