i wouldnt waste your money on dynomatting it, they make special mats that go inside and remove backwave distortion, but unless your going to SQ comp its a waste of money, well unless you have electronic ears.
Do you have MDF on the side of the box resting on the floor in that picture? I'm guessing so because it's flat. As long as the box is solid you won't get a benefit out of Dynamat. Filling it with poly-fill is a good idea with sealed boxes. The rule of thumb I remember is no more than 30% of box volume, I might be wrong though.

dynamat or alternate sound deadeners inside a box is common, and always a good idea. your box can never be too solid, too dead, too resonance free.
more than one top car competing for SQ world finals uses dynamat or an alternate layed inside their subwoofer boxes.
and certainly every top competitor uses polyfill in their boxes. Once the resonances are taken care of, the polyfill can disperse any of the internal reflections that may occur.

Def use dynamat, for people telling you not to, they obvisually don't have a damn clue of what they are talking about. The dynamat will take any noise you have, other than the actual subs out. Try laying the dynamat on the inside of the trunk, so that the carpet covers it. You don't want that **** rattling. My whole trunk is layer with it. I think we used 2 layers in the back. Also, get the dynamat for the license plate, helps a ton. I'm prepping my car to get the headliner, floor, doors and firewall. The sound of you car will sound completely different once you do it.
remember, this thread is only about one particular application for sound deadener - inside a subwofoer box!
