Can't Decide On Components.
I'm working on building my system up. It'll be a 4.1 eventually, but I'm stuck between the components I wanna get. I'm running Infinity Reference Six and A Halfs off the head unit right now, and I'm very satisfied. I've always liked infinity.
Now, here's the question. Should I get the Infinity 6010cs Components.

Or the MB Quart DSF 216 http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=15509
I've heard REALLY good things about MB Quart, but never heard them. I'd like to hear some opinions on both pitted against each other.

Yeah, I was gonna be amping them off an alpine four channel. MRP-F250. I'm buying all my ICE stuff before I install it all.
I'll definitely holler at you sometime.
I've heard the JL's scream. This is also an option.
Anyone have the TR-650's?

the quarts and the inifnities are definitely peas in a pod. if you like one, chances are you'll like the other.
I dont like the TR's. Simply incomparable to their other lines.
Even the VR series (which is only one step above the TR series) is such an improvement over the TR series I wouldnt even consider the TR's.
and the VR's can be had for a reasonable price.
definitely take a listen in a demoboard though as they are polar opposite to the infinity reference speakers. I'm not positive you would like their sound. an extended bottom end combined with a much drier, smoother, almost distant and uninteresting or flat sounding tweeter would be what I would first try to listen for to differentiate between the sets. VR's certainly dont take "screaming" (not musical screaming) *as well as* the infinity counterparts.
I think it might be worth taking the time to listen though, especially if you are looking for a component set. The VR tweeter might be a hands down improovement over the infinity reference where mounting up high just screams "windshield reflections!" I'd hate to see the positive impression of the reference set spoiled by the addition of potential reflections that might "sssssspoil the musssssic" if you know what I mean!

Ha, gotcha. Yeah, I went and listened to the tr's earlier, and I really didn't like them alot, like you said, they were dry, sounded like I should be driving an old cadillac or something. I dunno. So I'm definitely leaning towards the infinities or the mb quart. Most likely infinities, since I've heard them before. And, I don't think I'll be mounting mine up high, probably in the door.

its treated me very well so far. A buddy of mine has one exactly like it in his truck and he loves it. No problems so far, plus I got the 4 year warranty.
check out www.caraudio.com forums. they have a section based on product reviews. try searching on those forums and hopefully you'll get people reviews.
Running all alpine stuff together doesnt really make a difference. Sure, its nice having matching products, but you dont HAVE to match them.
Im running all MB quart speakers powered by an Eclipse 4 channel amp and it sounds awesome. Ive had alpines, (which arent bad), eclipse (which sound incredible) and some pioneers before the MB quarts. Infiniti IMO just dont compare to Eclipse or MB Quart. Im sure there are plenty of people out there who will say the opposite, but my buddy had some Inifiniti's in his car and it just didnt sound good to my ears.
If youre looking for some nice speakers, DEFINITELY check out MB Quart. Ive had mine for quite some time and they sound so clear its amazing. Eclipse makes some amazing speakers as well. Those are just 2 companies I would definitely look for. They both have their affordable line of speakers, which still sound good, but obviously are much more well known for their higher lines, which are very hard to beat in sound quality.
Either way, make sure you get a nice 4 channel amp. Even amping lower model speakers makes them sound like a high dollar setup.
..just my .02.
