I don't know much about that headunit, but I can comment on a few other things.

With the kind of power you are going to be running, you may not need an alternator. Run good cables/connections and the cap, and you will probably be fine on the stock power.

You will have a lot of bass! You'll probably tune it out a little if you want balanced sound. You could get away with a 10w6v2 for a more balanced amount of bass and a smaller box. You could also go to a 12w3v2 for a somewhat tighter, more accurate sound with less blast-wave style bass (depends what you are looking for).

Good amp choices IMO.

XR 6x9's will not fit in the back deck without rebuilding your trunk closing beams and setup. The speakers are too deep and just don't fit. You'll do a lot of working dissasembling the car and then get pissed because they won't drop deep enough. I ended up making some fiberboard panels and put VR 5.1/4's in the back. Works great.

Set has changed no rear speakers, i am using a 2 gauge 2 amp kit from JL and i am trading up from my 12 w6 to 2 8w7's, but the 12w6 is WAY cleaner than the 12w3 i have had both in my car.

Sounds like a lot of money to me, but its VERY similar to what I want to do once I get some extra cash(if that ever happens)

Good Choice, I love JL and Alpine, right now I'm all Alpine basically tho cause its cheaper, lol.

Personally, I would not have gone with two 8's. I would have taken a single 10 or 12 before two small drivers, but thats just my lousy opinion.

From my experience (both in sealed enclosures with JL advised airspace) the w3v2 is much more musically accurate woofer than the w6v2. (I have a w3v2, my brother has the w6v2). The w6v2 does obviously give a better low end, and more blast wave style bass. It's definitly more powerful, but for quality of sound I think the w3v2 is certainly better.

It's funny how we all work on the same sort of stuff, but we can get opposite opinions on whats what. - I guess the end point is: As long as you are happy with it, thats all that counts. I hope I atleast saved you a little trouble/frustration by alerting you of the rear JL 6x9 depth issue.

no not really, i had to cut into the front to get the ZR's to fit, it wouldnt have been that big of a deal for the rear, i didnt do rears b/c im probbably going w/another set of ZR's in the front, maybe in the mid somewhere. and im goign w/2 8w7s in a slot ported box ( trust me i wasnt a believer b4 but if the box is built right it doubles the out put of the woofer) b/c i listen to more rock than anything else and the 2 8's will still hit just as hard as my 12w6

I had 2 JL w6v2's with 2 JL 500/1 amps and it sounds amazing. As far as people saying the w6's arent crisp and clean are high. lol. I have never heard a better sounding sub. Mine unforttunately got stolen out of my car, but they sound AMAZING! Right now Im running a single Pioneer SPL with one of the 500/1's they didnt get, and Im loving it. I did end up ruining my alternator and had to buy a new one. Those JL amps require a ton of power. W7's are nice sounding and obviously bump like crazy, but unless youve got the cash, theyre not worth it IMO. I love the w6's. JL does make amazing product, but obviously with high quality comes high prices.
