whats the dif between 3 way and 2 way speakers??

i have a pair of three way 6x9's for the deck very nice sound [IMG]i/expressions/laugh2.gif[/IMG][IMG]i/expressions/laugh2.gif[/IMG] alot of treble

the difference is amount of drivers producing sound. Typically, 3-ways will have smoother frequency response and better very high frequency response. Most have a woofer (bog cone) a Tweeter(the bigger small one) and supertweeter(to cover those pesky nearly inaudible high frequencies) Some have a 1.5" inch or so midrange dome..these generally don;t help much than to add distorion as they cannot play below 1khz(most) so they aren't true midranges... Most 2-way setups actually have better acoustical properties provided they have at least a 3/4" Tweeter and not a litle 1/2"..Most things depend alot more on speaker design than wheter it's a 2-way or 3-way specially it's a co-axial.tri-axial speaker. For components on the other..that's a different story.
