Components
Hey peps does anybody know of any companies that sell 6"x9" component speakers ? All i seem to find are 6 1/2's. Could you possibly fit a 5 1/4" component speaker in a 6"x9" rear speaker slot ? Please help any suggestions or comments, this stock system needs to be upgraded.

Well First off.. get components for the fronts only.. Get 2 way Co-axials for the rear...But 5 1/4's fit in 6X9 holes with an adapter plate...Planet Audio is the only company I know of that makes 6x9" Components

i have plates in the rear with 6 1/2 components. I made a plate with 1/4 inch for my MB Quarts but then they blew and i got some infinity components from crutchfield and they sent me a free plates to mount them in for the back

Components in the rear is pretty pointless.. it ruins your sound quality.. sounds weird.. and is a waste of $$$... You want the sound to be coming from in front of you.. Your ears point forward for a reason..If you get efficient enough front speakers, Installed well with enough power.. there is NO need for rear speakers at all.

true and for SQ we just use our little fader and fade it forward but when we just want to be loud as hell and just ruin the people in the back seat you can switch it back to center and crank it.

True.. but most Components aren't any more efficient than good quality Coaxials.. I Mean for under $70 you can get 6.5" Co-ax's tha are 94DB's efficient.. (Louder than any 2 way component set on the market).. Also the Fader is not all you'd need..even lower volume sound of the same frequency will cancel out some sound.. also Rear deck speakers point right up at the glass...in which is a high frequency resonator so it causes alot of ugly sharp sounding peaks at certain frequencies.
