So I had a Clifford Matrix 2.5, had a 2 way pager with it. Well it died on me the other day. Best Buy told me the brain died, so much for lifetime warrenty on stuff they install. If they still carried it they said they could repair it, but because they dont I'm up **** lane.

So I need to replace it soon. I really want to stay with the 2 way pager. Not sure if I want to go back to best buy, they have done nothing but shitty work, i have gone there a couple times, they even busted 2 intirior panels!

So whats good with alarms, I was quoted 600 installed for a compustar with 2 way pager, and they would even set up remote start for a manual (the safe way). However that is way more than I want to spend. I got my old alarm while working at Best Buy got that 500 dollar alarm installed for 200.

What other brands are there? Wish I felt confident enough to do the install myself. I wouldnt know where to start though.

all you need to do is send your brain to DEI and have them fix it for free. if they can't fix it they will send you a new one.

i've had my dei viper 600 for 4 yrs and still fine. a wire broke due to bad install (thanks CC), and i just replaced the siren with a bmw oem version, but other than that its fine.

so do you need a proof of purchase when you send it to DEI?

I talked to the Best Buy manager and he said that even if I send it in they wont because its only under a 1 year warrenty. I may try to send it in, maybe they will hook me up. Worst that will happen is they wont do anything.

On second thought, maybe it would just be better to get a new one. Would be much less of a head ache.

Anyone know any stores that carry compustar?

you might try small specialty audio shops that are trustable. the big chains are carrying more and more junk than they used to. im surprised bb still carries alpine.
