Carputer GPS Software
I asked this in the Off Topic / Computer & Games section but thought posting here might be more help.
I'm basically looking into getting a GPS program for my laptop (MicroSoft Streets & Trips 2006) and was wondering if you guys had any advice on what kinda program I should run or stay away from.

I prefer low feature/big button GPS programs for the car. I find the more I dedicate the screen to displaying the map, the better off I am.
For corporate programs, I like Routis for this reason.
I understand that some folks on MP3car have been programming their own simple large button GPS programs, but I havent tried one. You might want to take a trip over there to check out what they've got. "map monkey" is one of them.
Ive never used streets and trips, but I've used street atlas, and there were so many tabs and buttons and cool little features that the program was simply impossible to use on a 7" screen. I've never looked back after getting routis.

Awesome man... thanks for the info.
I'm gonna be using this on my laptop (14" screen) so those tabs/features won't really affect anything.
