I found these while specing out a new PC. (I'm looking at using a mini-ITX board)

Homemade Mobile Black Box complete w/ rear-view camera

&

The Carputer complete with GPS and Voice-Recognition software
(try and ignore the awful background graphic)

Niether one is super technical, but definitely food for thought.

I've been trying to find the most effecient way to do this... Haven't found one yet and this certainly isn't it, but cool none the less.

I am in the process of making a new puter. Small case, flex atx MB, laptop boot drive and firewire DVD and external 40gb+ laptop drive.

I don't know how far along you project is. These VIA mini-ITX mainboards might be worth checking out. You can get 800mhz, sound, video, network (Lan & Firewire) with no cooling required for like $120. That's some crazy ****. Would definitely work in a car. The hardest part would be wiring in a power supply, and they only need a 50w psu.

but no firewire for external storage solutions.
I already have a DC-DC PSU.
50w is not enough when you start to add on a few things. I am running a 900 celery and is upgradable to p4 1.2.

If I wanted to set this up, how would I run power to the PC and monitor? If I can figure ths out I am getting one of these set ups.
