Spray with 3M adhesive (Super 77 or Hi Strength 90 are great choices.)
Spray carpet with same, let sit for a minute until adhesive becomes tacky
Apply carpet tightly on surface
Trim excess carpet.

Grey 11 is the carpet code. Pick it up at any mom and pop audio shop or online.
This should help, even though you aren't carpeting a square box.

It's in the sticky.
