Building my own box
As some of you may know I recently bought 2 10" Alpine Type-Rs. I plan on building my own box for them but don't know what the specs should be for it. Sealed or Ported? How large inside the box? I don't know much about ported boxes. So how do I build those? Thanks.

Well what kinda sound you want.. want Deep bass (from 10's he he).. Want great sound tight punchy bass.. Want it Loud..(sacrifices low end)... For a pair Type-R 10's I'd build a 2 chamber enclsoure each side having .8cu.ft of air space.. if you don't like the sound.. add some polyfill.. If it's too "boomy" or sloppy sounding.. Add pieces of 2x4 into the enclosure to decrease the airspace.. Always build it a big bigger.. you can always fill in space.. making it too small is a bad thing..
With a Sedans transfer function 2 10's in .71cu.ft each would give a very flat response and be pretty musical...
Hope this helps.
