its not instant perfection for the stage, but its definitely an improvement in pathlength differences an on axis driver positioning over the stock locations.

I'd say its a fantastic option for a 3 way component set. I find that midbass drivers on axis leads to a low stage WAY too easily.

however, with tweets up high, whether its in the doors, a-pillars, or the sails, you can more easily tune a high stage, even if the midbass drivers are on axis.

But the real benefit is the ability to get good looking real estate for more spekaers up front without any effort. Can't say that about custom made kicks!

The only gripe I have about them is the back is open as opposed to being sealed. I'd recommend glassing a back onto them, were it me.

actually, I think everyone should check out this article:

http://www.elitecaraudio.com/article.php?sid=20

exerpt:

"Should I go sealed or vented? This is the topic of many debates. .......when the mids are directed to play down to 150 or so (like they should!), there simply isn’t enough air space [when sealed] for them to reproduce the upper midbass without some form of sonic coloration...................... Many times I have tried to use totally sealed kicks, and many times I got a nasty resonance peak in the lower notes, requiring so much EQ to correct that I end up with very thin midbass output. Even stuffing the kick with polyfill won’t help matters all that much.

So, what do I do?"

he answers that question. You can read up to find out what he suggests
