draw a perfect circle with a compass and use a jigsaw to cut it out. just take your time and it will be perfect. perfection takes time that all

I second this. If you want the edges rounded, use a router afterwards. You can always sand it down as well.

if your going to only be doing one or two a compass and jigsaw with a steady hand will do the trick.

otherwise invesnt in a router and jasper jig. i love mine. it makes flushing objects much easier and gives a more professional look

If you want perfect circles, use a router

If you want "good enough" circles, use a jigsaw

thats my theory, i can afford good enough so i use that option. $30 for a jig-saw vs $100 for a router.

If you are cutting by hand then cut a little inside the lines and they use a router to finish it off.

if you can get access to a band saw you'd be good to go...

measure your radius.
get these tools:

piece of string.
thumb tack.
pencil.

with these three items, you can draw perfect circles. then cut a little inside the circle, and work out.

router. you can mount it on your own piece of 1/4 inch ply or hardboard. just something flat.

simply drill a hole where you want your radius to be. then punch the same bit into your workpiece. I use an old broken bit.

the circlecutter wont wiggle, and the cuts come out perfect, even through multiple passes.
