hello friends,
i tried searching for this but couldnt fine the answer i was looking for. one day my amp stopped working. i noticed when i didnt hear any bass. anyways, my headunit still works but my amp light doesnt work. so i thought it was my amp fuses and they looked blown out so i replaced them. so i replaced them with the same capacity and color one at a time. 1 sec later i see a spark from the fuse hole and see smoke coming out of it so i took out the fuse and it was blown again. so i did it again then it smoked up again. does any1 know whats wrong and what i can do? thanks fellas.

Rep Power: 0 sounds to me like a blown amp, but i'm not an expert. heres a way to check. take the amp out. take two wires to the positive battery terminal, then one to the negative. put one positive to the battery on the amp and one to the remote turn on on the amp. put the negative from the battery to the negative on the amp. if it works then you have a wiring problem. if not then it is probably something wrong with the amp. just to be safe i would try to rig up a fuse in between the power wire on the battery to the terminal on the amp for power.

Rep Power: 0 its just a safety precaution. you can take a couple of female spade connectors and attach wires to them then slide the connectors onto a standard fuse of whatever amperage. its a little jerry rigged but should work fine without rigging in a full fuse holder type gizmo.

Rep Power: 0 You copuld always disconnect the power wire at the amplifier and insulate it. Replace the fuse at the battery, if it blows again then it's the wiring that's at fault.
If it doesn't then it's most likely the amplifier.
