Crazy Basssss !!

Ok this is weird, i have an alpine mono block amp pushing two alpine type E's and when my deck is turned on everything works great and sounds awesome.
But......as soon as I turn the deck off my subs go crazy and almost blow my back windshield ! I thought it was my factory deck but I swapped it out for a pioneer today and it does the same thing . anyone know what causes this or a fix ??

i know what you're talking about..it happened in my civic and toyota as well.

you play your subs for few min, park your car and shut it off. before you can remove the keys from the ignition, the subs just start to growl really loud and shake the whole car. whats weird was that i had to open the door in the toyota to get rid of that odd sub thumping. i forgot what i did when it happened in the civic.

but what i would do is check your connections to be safe. when i had this problem, it went away after normal use.

Where is your amplifier getting signal from?

If you are using some kind of high level converter from your rear speaker wires, that could be your problem.

ahhhh.....see when my friend hooked my system up he ran the rcas for the amp from the rear speakers . So the amp is getting sygnal from rears, do you think this is the problem ? If so is there any way of keeping setup while fixing problem ?

for the amps, RCA is low level input.......100mV to 1V typ...
however speakers are high level input......1V to 10V typ...

You must use hi/Low converters OR use the high input level port of the amp if you have one...

so essentially you are using the signals of high level and feeding into a RCA which is only supposed to accept low level input..bad idea

so the only way to solve is to run the rcas directly to the deck (sub outlet) ?

What I think it is.

You originally had no remote wire on your stock deck. So your amp was on as long as your car was on. So now that you bought an aftermarket deck your friend didnt think(lazy) to run a remote line and r.c.a.'s from the deck to the amp. That or if you had a shop install it. No shop is going to run a remote line for free. So now you have a aftermarket deck with all the fancy controls but nothing is connected to it. Your amp is still on as long as your car is on.

Easy test.
1)play music (subs should play)
2)turn volume down to 0 (subs shouldnt play)
3)turn deck off (vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr should come from the subs)

1)or just leave the car on turn the deck off and look at the amp and see if the light is on

If iether one happens your problem is that you need a remote line ran from the amp to the deck

yeah , aftermarket deck with no sub controlls !!!!!!!!
this suks, whenever i turn my deck off my amp stays on bc theres no remote to tell the amp to turn off, and i get that really loud reverberation.
guess my only options are to either
1.) live with it ( annoying ! )
2.) run a remote wire
well thanks for all the help

i had the same problem with my setup all you need to do is run a remote cable usually blue from your headunit straight to your amp and that should solve your problem.
