Exclamation New to to upgrading sound system...i think i messed up

Hey i have a 2001 Civic EX Coupe and i am in the process of upgrading my system and i bought Alpine Type-S Rear Speakers today and i think i have a problem. I havent installed them yet (thats tomorrow) but i went on the Crutchfield.com website just to see how much they were on there compared to how much i bought them for. When i was on their website it said these speakers will not fit my car? I was gonna buy the Type-R's which say they will fit but i decided to go with the Type-S when i heard them. I noticed that the type-s are 1/8" deeper than the type-r. is this going to make them not fit? they are also 1/16" wider. They look like they will fit but could they be too deep?

hmm, you can make anything fit. from what I know the type R speakers are better than the type S. Why exactly did you get the lower model?

i got the lower model because when testing them at best buy i noticed they were on sale and i think the Type-S had a little more bass than the Type-R even tho the Type-R had more clarity. The main reason was because they were on sale. Could they be too deep?

Care to inform us as to what SIZE you purchased? Type-S speakers come in a number of sizes, not all of which will fit in our cars.

I had SPS-69C2s installed in my 2001 EX coupe a few weeks ago and they fit fine. In case you're also looking for fronts, the SPS-171A components installed and they fit fine as well.

Altogether, they sound great.
