Powering 2 amps...

O.k. - im sorta new to this whole car audio thing. I know basics and how to fix things. But...i had my system installed, so i wouldntk now how to do this.

i have 2 amps, how would i go about wiring my second one? is there someway i can get like a "splitter" that would save me the damn trouble of wirign it all the way from trunk to engine bay? like this..

12v power, and RCA's --> splitter < 1st amp, 2nd amp

sorry if this is really easy and im just stupid but i just need smoe help thanks!

easy......run power wire from the battery to a distribution block and from the distribution block run wire to each amp. for the ground, run the ground wires to another distribution block and then to a ground point or you can just run both the grounds somewhere not far from the amps. for rca run a pair to each amp. make all the connections and your should be set for wiring

hope this helps

hmmm well your wire is too small to split. i would use at least 8 gauge just for the one amp not 10. you need to run one 4 gauge and then get a distribution block and run 2 8 gauge. then from your amps 8 gauge to another dist block to 4 gauge ground. don't just run 8 gauge to ground. Rca's you need to run another. one is just for subs so you can adjust it at the deck. the other will be for rear. and by the way what is powering your front spkrs?? you want the most power to them so the sound isn't coming from behind u.

cheap azz solution.......what i did for years.......
just run all your normal wires (gr. and pw.)... to your first amp........then run like foot long power and ground from your first amp to your second..........
I did that w/ 2 punch 150 amps and 8 guage wire.........never had any probmlems for 2 years.........everything was perfect.............its not the profesional way but hey.......were not all perfect.
OHhh and RCA's,,,,just use a splitter and run a pair to each amp........that is if you are running one sub per amp.........exmpl......1 JL12 to a fosgate 150w amp...........& 1 jl12 to the other fosgate amp......
dont know if it would work as far as running your mids off a amp that has split RCA's........i didnt do that....
whooooops...didnt mean to ramble........peace. trevor.

10 gauge is kinda small, might want to go with a 4 gauge split into 8 gauge

You need 4 guage wiring. Wiring 2 amps in series like Trevor said is not bright at all. But those were small amps so It most likely wouldn't be any problems.. I'd reccomend getting another pair of RCA's that way each amp is gettign a potential 4 volts from your HU.. and splitting it to 2 each. Less Noise problems there..

Cheers
