I guess this will be a pretty dense question. Let me preface this by saying that I have looked at all the instructions given elsewhere in the form and they don't seem to fit my Honda. I have a 2002 Civic LX Sedan and am trying to replace the radio. However I can't seem to figure out the right way to access it. The pictures given in the long instructions where you pull back the entire center console, does not match mine, because the base around the automatic stick dose not have the ring around it to remove first, in fact the base of it with the P, D, R, N, etc in it, seems to be flush molded into the center console. Other instructions I have seen show that on some models you can just pull the lower part of the center dash that contains the cigarette lighter out by grabbing the lighter and the little storage space below it and pulling. THat part of my car only has the cigarette lighter, there is no storage place under it to give me the traction to pull it.

I appreciate any help y'all can give.

Hey Thanks for the reply. But I already looked at that thread. My civic does not have the trim ring around the gear shift. I would post you a pic, but I can't do it yet.

you need to take out the center console where the shifter at then you'll have access to the two bolt that need to be remove first then yank the the console where your stereo is at it's kind of hard because their alot of clips holding it

Yes I realize that the problem, I don't know to remove the center console. The DIY on this site, shows a shiter that has a ring you can popup around it, giving you the space needed to slide it back and expose the bolts. My civic does not have this ring. I can probably do it once I get started, the problem is that I can't figure out what to take off first and how.
