help with avic-d1 install
Hello all. I am a noob, just registerd. I was trying to install a Pioneer Avic-d1 into my 02 civic and i ran into some problems.
1: is there a double din faceplate that i could purchase? i have seen the single din but naturally i need a double din.
2: this is a general question: for some reason the map on the screen is rotated 180 degrees. let me try to explain: while i am on the right side of a highway on a service road, the image on the map shows me on the left side of the highway. BUT, all the streets are correct, its just the complete image is inverted. (hard to explain).
3: where can i locate the VSS wire in the civic?
4: Has anyone figured out how to bypass the dvd while driving issue? i know in my TL i just had to add a wire to my wire harness and ground it with the parking brake wire and everything was fine. any ideas?
THANK YOU FOR THE HELP, I APPRECIATE IT!

two solutions to this problem..you can buy the OEM 04-05 civic special edition dash because those come with a double DIN stock. OR you buy a metra brand dash kit, all you have to do is remove a little seperation bar, it's not hard, just sand down the rough edges.

try resetting the unit...i have no idea on this one...
3: where can i locate the VSS wire in the civic?
i **THINK** it's white/green tracer at the ECU behind the glovebox.
4: Has anyone figured out how to bypass the dvd while driving issue? i know in my TL i just had to add a wire to my wire harness and ground it with the parking brake wire and everything was fine. any ideas?
yes, but this thread would get deleted if i posted the procedure. you have the right idea. PM me if youd like.
