hey guys I was reading a DIY on how to connect your ipod into your car but I dont remember what wires he used and now I cant find the damn thread that has it posted. if someone can find it for me great. But if not maybe someone could answer my question. Question is as follows: The wires that go connected behind head unit are those yellow and red cables, I think they are called RCA cables if I am not mistaken, from that wire it goes connected into your ipod via the headphone jack above it. But how the hell do you go from RCA cables to the headphone jack?? thats what I dont understand. By the way the radio Iam using is the stock 02 civic radio. Bottom line I want to be able to control what I listen to from ipod not the radio and I think this is the only way to do it unless I use a wireless FM transmitter but those suck ***
. Any and all info is greatly appreciated guys thank you.

Use Monster Cable's iCruze. It's very good and it's actually real cheap at the moment... $99 for the unit and cable with the LCD free... instead of $249!!!

u can get a P.I.E. auxillary imput adaptor than get a 3.5 minijack to rca cable and plug it in the auxilary imput adaptor
http://www.logjamelectronics.com/log...ehon98aux.html
its $50...or u can buy my FM transmitter for $25...i have an xtrememac Airplay 2 which is for all ipods with dock connectors at the bottom...it works well and i barely used it so im gonna sell it off

RagingSPAM if the head unit has rca plugs in the back why would I need that? couldnt I just plug in the minijack to rca cable like that? while I was looking on the logjam website they also have the blitzsafe UII which allows control through the ipod not the cars radio and thats what I have been looking for. Grenloch any idea on how much that cable costs? because the only drawback to using just that wire is that it wont charge my ipod I may try to do that and see if I can manage without have to charge it.

i have the pie auxiallary output on my car, theres one for stock and one for aftermarket head units and the stock one doesnt have rca plugs in the back so you need to plug it into the cd changer port, the cable cost about $40 and it does not charge the ipod, thats basically the only downside to it, it doesnt lose its charge quickly at all but i keep my ipod in my car and the cold weather kills the battery so i have a car charger now, you can only control it from the ipod with the input adaptor

ok then so in order to make it work I need to buy the pie auxillary input converter then buy the pie 3.5mm to rca6mm interface. that will not let me charge my ipod but I will be able to control the music from my ipod correct?
But what about the UII universal ipod interface? from what I have read that allows control via the ipod and charges your ipod however I still need the auxillary input converter to use that. It lists both pieces as addons on the auxillary converters page damn it I wish I could just go buy these at frys electronics or something instead of having to order them.

yes you will be able to control the music from your ipod. Ive never heard of the UII ipod interface but ive heard of some and they charge the ipod at the same time but they cost over $100, so i figured i would just get the pie which does everything the same except charge it for like $75 cheaper

I say you just buy a cheap aftermarket deck and then use the rca to mini jack adapter. The rca to mini adapter is $10 or less at any electronics store. Even the decks at walmart now have rca's and probably output more power then the stock deck from honda.
Thats what i use for my nano. Works perfectly and sounds better then the transmitters.
