6x9 speakers in 02 civic coupe

I bought infinity kappas and they are too deep. They blow way past the trunk bars. What speakers will fit? I'm rather disappointed in the design Honda put out. They didn't leave much room there.

Spacers won't allow the rear panel to snap in properly. But I will do this DIY for sure. sounds good.

youll love having the trunk shocks in there, just make sure to measure 1800 times and only drill once. the first trunk arm i did has three extra holes in it because i didnt measure correctly

most 6x9s wont fit in the rear deck without the magnet hitting the torsion bars that support the trunk lid

I second grenloch101056's suggestion about quadruple checking everything before you start drilling. My trunk arms look like someone's ears that has a piercing fetish. If you want good sound (i.e. amp + speakers), trunk shocks are the way to go...

It's not even close. The magnet drops a whole inch lower than the trunk springs . I'm not sure how you got them to fit.

But yes I will like the new shocks. I never knew the trunk lid was that heavy until I took out those springs. It's been quite a pain.

I'm not drilling a thing until I'm 110% sure it's right. Looks like a fun DIY though.

trust me, you sound as if u already removed ur trunk springs already , but get some type of spaver on there so that it doesn't rattle, metal + metal = rattling, metal/rubber + metal = no rattle. I have 6x9 RFs and the magnets are huge. I got everything for my trunk shocks DIY but Im still measuring now for like a month

cant agree more, I was never a big believer in rear fill especially when going for a stereo effect. I only turn on my rear speakers when people are in the back seat.

cant stand it, the soundstage gets pulled too far back for my liking.
