How do you get through the firewall?
I just spent an hour looking for grommets both in my engine bay and under my steering column. I could only find a few very small holes specifically for factory wiring and a hole encased in metal for the steering. I'm starting to like my old Cavalier more and more, it just had a large rubber piece you could go through.
Help would be great, pictures would be fantastic!

cut an x in the gromment that encloses the factory wiring bundle, theres enough room to fit 4 guage through. If you have an automatic, the clutch plate is always a safe bet, just check on the other side before drilling.

On the passanger side under the dash there is a large rubber nipple. Its under the carpet so pull the carpet back a bit (carpet is only velcro'ed in place)
You WILL see the nipple there. Cut a slit in it and pass any wires you need through it. I have 4 gauge running through there and with a large slit I bet even 1/0 could pass through the firewall there. good luck. hope I helped.

I found the grommet on the passenger side and jammed a screwdriver through it. Then I got my finger through it to open it up a little and got the wire in, I think it's 4 gauge. My system is complete for now, I think a DVD player, PS2 and full surround sound system is enough for one week.
Thanks everybody! Thread
