alright, i have this gorgeous Valentine1 radar detector and i want this biznatch hardwired in! the hardwire kit includes: a relay, a fuse (for the fuse box), a wire clamp. i have no idea what in the h311 to do with this stuff!
if i am stick the fuse in the fuse box, where do i put the wire clamp (on which wire)?

cant you just cut the end, and wire it into something like the cig lighter, that way it works when the car is on and then when you turn it off the radar detector turns off too...

i don't know...that is wht i am trying to figure out. the thing is the V1 works with a different wiring than normal radar detectors, it uses your typical phone line cord that you plug into the wall so i think splicing is out of the question!
it has a phone cord plug that goes into the dector right? Just like the Passport 8500 or X50. On mine I cut off the cig part of it and just wired it up under my steering counsole...
If that direct wiring kit just plugs into the V1 then us a DMM to figure out which wire either under the steering wheel/ behind the radio has power in the ON position and then just wire it accordingly
