Since my power acoustik 1200 watt amp has caused me much torment and I have now repackaged it pending it's return (it's broken), I am now deciding between purchasing a new power acoustik amp or trying a boss audio amp. I need 2 x 250W at 4 ohms, and I don't want to pay a lot of money. From what I can tell these are two decent brands for the price, but I've never known anyone with a boss audio amp before. I've known plenty with power acoustiks that say they worked great the entire time they were used. So does anyone have any information about this boss audio brand? I know they make an RIP-696 model amplifier that has the power output I need, but before I switch brands I'd like some feedback.

If you're thinking about telling me that I should buy a JL Audio or Rockford Fosate or (insert expensive brand name amp here) then please don't post. I'm not going to. If you have another inexpensive brand that is of good quality though, I'd like to hear from ya'. Thanks for any information you guys have!

ya know you could buy a smaller "expensive" amp and get the same out put the two cheap amps you listed here would do. honestly now there are reasons why those things are cheap trust me i used to work at a shop that sold them cause we delt with alot of people that thought 500$ was a lot of money for a complete system. they arent worth the metal the are made from

Buy something used of better quality. youll end up buying that, then having it break, or not put out what you had expected. Its not worth wasting the money, honestly.

I say go for the Boss. I dont like Power Acoustic at all and I think the Boss is worth a try. Sure its not a JL/Rockford or whatever but I bet that you will be surprised on how decent that it sounds
