Hello all,

I Have a:
Rockford P6001 amp
JL 12W3V2 sub
Pioneer deck
2004 Civic SI

If i run this system in when my car is off (turn key to accessory position) it seems to work ok. As soon as I start the car, I get this weird rumbling comming from the sub, the loudness depends on the volume/gain setting on the amp. Even at low volume / amp gain the rumbling is very noticeable.
In both cases I am playing a CD (hip/hop & rap)

My sub is wired correctly for 2 ohms and the polarity from the amp to sub is correct.
I tried disconnecting my rear speakers and it does not appear to have any effect.
I also have 2 12" sony xplod's and they run perfectly (single voice coil i believe).

Anyone have any clue what is causing this?

the low rumble you have sounds familiar to a defective DC regulator in the AMP itself. I had the same issue and thats what it turned out to be. pull your rca's from the amp to see if it still does it just to rule out interference
