Smile Kick panels woot!

Finally got around to adding some kick panels lol. Well heres mines:

I still need to trim a bit off the side closest to the door as it touches the door just a lil.

And heres the passenger side, ran out of resin! *cries* But so far, not bad for a first timer eh?

Good job so far man (not too bad for your first time). What size components did you go with? I'm looking to fit my CDT HD-642 3 way set in my civic without losing the dead pedal (4", 1" in kicks, 6.5" in doors).

I just went with all ebay stuff haha $9.50 speakers and those tweeters were lying in my garage lol another ebay set (10 pairs for 18 bucks with shipping lol) So i think the speakers are 5" and the tweets were 1". What did you mean without losing your dead pedal? lol i think you need all the space you can get. Its only a 10mm bolt/nut and a clip or something. Just yank it out. It was so cool though because i had some 5.25 Sony's in my doors, amped with a 30 x 30 and they pushed out good mids but i needed high's so i wasn't using my decks 2 front channels and figured, what the hell. Lets play with fiberglass haha. Very fun! Now you can hear everything CLEARLY no matter where you are in the front seat wether its reaching for something in the back seat or sticking your head in the glove j/k. But its very sweet. Everyone should dab into this DIY.

I'm going to try to fit my 4" mid and 1" tweeter into the kicks by cutting out and glassing onto the factory panels. I want to try to maintain as much access to the dead pedal as possible (car is 5spd). We'll see how it works out, I haven't done any glass work since my Prelude (6 years ago).

Eddie, White Rabbit did a DIY a while back that's in the sticky where you retain the dead pedal. He said that there were some flaws in it, but that the idea is there, and were it to be refined that it'd work well. I had kicks in my civic when I had it for a while that I built. I took them out and sold them before selling the car. They worked well, and I worked around the dead pedal I never used.
