Hey, I was wondering if a headunit increases the quality of sound at all? I never thought it did, but i always see people getting them for their cars that already have CD players, which doesn't make any sense to me if it doesnt

it does everything!
a good head unit will have a cross over in it so you can control what freq. get to the speakers. It will also have more control with regards to highs,mids,lows and subs. It will have a sub pre out and maybe a front and rear aswell. The fm tuner will be better. You can plug i-pods and sat radio directly in to them through the use of adapters. The internal amp is about 5x more powerful. they have a remote wire for amps. they can play mp3/wma cd's and now some even play mp4 dvd's and video dvd's.

people buy cars with radios in them because they are tards. listen to the premium sound in any car then find out how much that add on was. then go to a car audio shop and spend the same amount on an insane system.
