Question Adding Alarm to Keyless

I've searched and found nothing about this.

So.....

I have 05 LX SE. With factory keyless entry and panic button.

I want to add alarm to my car (DEI) but I don't know if I need to remove the factory keyless or if I can just add the alarm system?

I've installed keyless system before but never tried installing an alarm.

I know new systems have alarm and keyless in one system.

So, do I really need to uninstall the factory keyless so I can add the new alarm?

Thanks

well i checked the DIY but it didn't mention the keyless.

i saw another thread where this guy is changing oem alarm to aftermarket.

i'll look more into and try to install it this weekend.

if anybody can give me a link to where i can get some info on connecting alarm to factory keyless, i would appreciate it.

or should i just F it and take it to a shop????

How's the Stock alarm compared to DEI???

I guess for my purpose any alarm will do, but I wouldn't want to get something worthless.

I don't know how the stock alarm is, but from how I read this thread it seems that you are considering doin the alarm install yourself. Don't. Pay the money and get it done. No offense, I can tell you don't have the experience or the know how to do this job.

Well, I was actually thinking about paying somebody to do it.
and I haven't decided yet, but I am leaning towards doing it myself.
After reading the stock alarm installation manual, it looked simple enough.

Can you tell me better explanation why I shouldn't do it?

Honestly, I never installed an alarm before, but I installed keyless and CD heads.. which was really simple.
Does it help??
