Vibration in driver's door speaker

I get a very annoying buzzing from the driver's side door speaker. When I put pressure on the plastic in the area to the upper left of the speaker holes to push the inside door panel with the plastic of the door pocket (they are separate pieces) the buzzing goes away. Does anyone have an idea of how to permanently eliminate the sound? Will I have to remove the door panel to look at the speaker? Thanks.

I put brown bread on my whole interior door panel and it cut down on the vibration I had. Try and make sure that all your clips snapped back in also

The mechanics at the dealer use strips of wool felt to quiet the rattles.

your speakers probably werent installed right. you have to buzz down the round thing on the inside of the door panel tht seals the stock speakers to the door panel. Had the same problem and this completley eliminated it.
good luck

Make sure the speaker is properly secured into your door and hasn't come loose.

I suspect the problem is something like that. It has been there from nearly the time I bought the car. I tried pulling the door panel off, but it wouldn't budge and I don't have the tools or knowhow to do the job. The Civic seems to be the car for people who find it challenging to seek find and solve the workmanship problems that came with it from the factory. Unfortunately, I do not seem to be one of those people.

I know there's a service bulletin out for our gen for the door rattles. All the dealers do is remove the door liner then cut little strips of the self adhesive wool felt as stated above and stick them to the protruding ribs on the inner liner. Often, it's just the ribs on the liner hitting the metal of the door frame. If you can spend a few hours and get the panel off, getting rid of the rattle should be no problem.

You can get entire sheets of wool at any fabric store, by the felt square section.

And, of course, always check the speaker clips and all that as well.

Good luck! report back when you're done

Ed

it doesn't take ours to take the door panel off, but on mine, the plastic rivets broke and i just super glued them back together and the rattles went away.

well, not hours to take it off, but a couple hours to take it off, put stuff on, try it and do it all over again if the rattle doesn't go away, which it never seems to on the first try

lol, after putting 3 sets of new speakers, running new speaker wire through the whole car, putting power windows and power locks in, re-carpeting the doors, changing the door handles and cutting the linkage for the locks, i can get that baby apart in less than 3 min.

For the time being I have adjusted the balance a few settings down for the left and up for the right speakers. This seems to eliminate most of the buzz. Maybe someday I will figure out how to get the door panel off.

mine was terrible and its the spots where that pocket meet the panel. you can shove foam pieces inbetween the pocket and door on each side without taking anything off.

that won't work for rattles, unless you stuff it between the plastics that are touching. dynamat is only for sound deadening the metal to make it seem denser than it really is. Has nothing to do with rattle.
