Mounting a single din in the lower portion to replace storage space?
Has anyone mounted a single DIN in the bottom portion of our radio space? I have a 2003, and all the Metra ones look to focus on mounting the radio in the top position. I think the bottom would be a far better place to mount the HU if you're using a flip out LCD screen.
Anyone got advice on who makes a mounting kit to accomplish this, or what problems I might face trying to make it fit down there?
Thank you.

I missed that thread in my searching (although I wasn't searching for the right words).
Thanks a bunch!!!! Not being able to mount the deck in the lower position probably would have kept me from buying an aftermarket.
You may find this funny.. I stopped in a local car stereo shop today asking them if they had any kits to install (as shown in that DIY with the HU on bottom). He said there is nothing, but they can make me a custom cover plate for $200-$250. I guess they gotta stay in buisness somehow.
Rep points to you!!! Thanks again.

I used the search function but looked for the wrong words. The thread was labeled as a DIY for glare reduction, it said nothing in the title about moving the HU to the lower portion of the dash space.
I know some of you just love telling people to search.. but if the title had contained what I figured was logical to search for, I probably would have found it. Although, I am not an expert searcher like popcornplaya, so who knows.. I may have missed it even if I did search for the right things. Hop back on your high horse, your majesty.. and thank you for your useless contribution.
Bad_civc, thank you once again (without the sarcasm).

Or, perhaps, being as this site has been around going on 5 years, you could have clicked the DIY section in the ice forum, or the DIY link and then went into ICE and electrical DIY's. I'm not getting on a high horse, I'm educating you. No need to waste bandwidth with something that has been covered before. I'd think one would be smart enough to figure out that this idea isn't original for a car that's been around for 5+ years.
