How does everyone clean their faceplates?

I cleaned my Alpine faceplate for the first time with a lense cloth and then noticed in direct sunlight it caused some minor scratches almost like paint swirl marks........whats the best way to clean these things?

I hate seeing the display dusty during the day but at the same time id rather not see scratches either!
