I hate my luck

well yesterday i put my new sub in, .5 farad cap, and recarpeted my box, sounded great, until this morning when i was on my way to work. All of a sudden my cabin and trunk had more smoke than a 1978 hookah bar. , Mr. Cap decided to blow his load, the sub is still good and the sub amp sounds ok, now my surrounding speakers, fart, seriously, they fart. It WAS a crunch (pos) amp, my buddy is givin me a blaupunky amp with the same wattage rating, so not that it matters, but is it a better amp? and 2, i looked at all the wires, the only ones melted are the rcas, which i'll cut and solder to make better, think it might of damaged my speakers n e one?

turned to liquid, the wires for the cap were next to it (since the cap was by the amp), so the wires on the cap welted into the rcs....

Crunch is made by www.maxxsonics.com

Maxx Sonics owns Crunch, AutoTek, Hifonics, and MB Quart.

Blaupunkt has been around for a while and seems to be good for entry level products.

Crutchfield sells Balupunkt products so head over there and read the reviews.

well i put the blaupunkt in and re-tuned everything and it sounds much cleaner and more spread, i actualy like it a lot. DOnt get me wrong, the crunch was well worth the 119 (haha) i paid for it 2 years ago, it was the amp that all of us get when it's our first car stereo and we have no idea how to do anything right. So it definately took a good beating. luckily, my sub and sub amp is fine and all 10 of my speakers are good too.
