Where to mount fuse holder for amp?
i mounted mine about 4 inches from the positive post. for accesibility and safety put it there, if you fuse it at your amp/setup your screwed if the wire touches your cars metal anywhere before that fuse.
the law says that it has to be within 18 inches of the positive terminal of the battery, and insurance claims investigators also look for that in the case of electrical fires, and wont give u any money if its mounted further than that. I have mine about 8 inches away, and zip tied it to the wires that go from the fuse box to the battery terminal to keep it in place.

i tried to upload a pic but my phone is being an a$$hole... anyway, mine is in a fuse holder screwed to the car's under-hood fuse box cover... it's like 8 inches away from the battery, it's a stable mounting location, water can't splash up there, it's easy to reach to change fuses, and all that good stuff... just use short screws so you don't poke a fuse inside when you put the lid back on and you're good to go...
