mounting aftermarket deck

i am gonna install an aftermarket cd player in my car, but the stock cd player have that funny shape, not really a rectangle. Do i have to buy a kit to fit my aftermarket one because i dun want to leave a big gap beside the deck. Are there any other way i can sove this problem?

theres always a way to do it without spending money...but spend the 15$ bucks and get yourself a kit. you wouldnt be driving a 2001-2002 car if you couldnt afford 15 bucks. just my opinion....you can get them at Best Buy..just go back to the car audio section, tell them the car you need and ask for a kit. theyll go back into the garage and get you one...trust me
