Whine in Rear component speakers when rca cable unpluged

I am about to give up on my rear component amplifier. I have tried all of the steps in eliminating alternator noise (grounds for amps and HU, upgraded rca cables, audio / power cable positioning, amplifier gain) but nothing has helped.

I am not sure if my case is different but I am also getting noise in my rear components even when the rca cables are not hooked up. The power, ground, remote, and speaker wires are all hooked up with the exception of the rca cable. Does anyone have any ideas? I am about to get some coax speakers for rear fill and just hook them up to the HU amp.

Thanks in advance

What are the rca's for? how come their not hooked up. Do you get a whining noise when its hooked up or not hooked up. If u get noise when its unhooked make sure that you don't leave the rca cable bare. Put some rubber or vinly tape to cover it. Maybe that is the cause.

Did you just run your audio wires bare? or you use a wire loom. I used wire looms for all my wires that's why I have clean signal.

The amp is a newer model US Acoustics 2080. I just searched the car audio forums and found out that these amps have unshielded inputs sensitive to grounds. Oh well, I would rather get a new amp then replace my CDTs.

I think this sounds like a bad earth, (or grounding as you may call it), make sure the earthing is good and if possible earth everything at the same place, this stop earth looping (i think its called that anyway).

darklegacy540 is on a distinguished road
To me, it doesn't sound like he's having ground loops.
What type of noise are you getting?

Remember that the RCA is not connected and there is still noise that indicates either bad grounding maybe, but cant be attributed to the HU, cos it aint connected.

does ne1 noes bout the noise when u plug in everything n everything works n stuff
but like when u step on the gas theres like a whine noise sound like ur car got boosted in a bad way
how do u fix that?
it is cuz of the powr? (do i need a cap? cuz i dont have ne install)
this is the setup i have
1:1 kenwood amp for all the speakers
2:1 kenwood amp for the 2 12" subs
b4 #2 everything was fine now its just
ill probably disconnect the #2 over the weekend n then install a diff deck n c how it will sound but if ne1 fix that problem

cheaper amps generally do not have very good noise filtration.

You can buy a thing called an alternator suppressor that would help, but that only cures the symptoms and not the cause. Likely causes are poor rubbish unshielded RCA's or again a bad earth or grounding.

Interesting - I would have suspected the amp as your source of noise, not your deck but regardless, Alpine makes quality product.

The noise was coming from the amp. Don't buy the newer US acoustic amps they suck.
