bass-less mids? wtf?
I cant seem to figure out why my wifes RF 6x9's (powered by her pioneer deck) sound a lot better than my alpine 6x9's powered by a phoenix gold amp with an alpine 7892 head unit.
I have the SPS-690A 6x9's in back, and eclipse SP8964 6.5's up front. (actually, my speakers arent those exact ones, but those are almost identical models). I am powering them with phoenix gold amps.
My wife has a Pioneer DEH-P7700MP head unit with stockers up front and Rockford Fosgate Power T1692C's in back.
She currently doesnt have an amp installed. But her system sound clearer, more base, with similar highs.
What the hell am i doing wrong? My speakers have absolutely NO BASS. Hers vibrate the damn mirror. My highs sound pretty bad. I dont have the HPF turned on.

Yeah man it might be a phase problem. That's what happened to me everytime I put my balance on the middle I have no bass at all but when I put it on the left or right that's where the bass comes out. Check your negative and positive wirings.
