Amp installed, whinning noise.
I get a whinning noise, however when I disconnect the ground for the amp, the noise is gone. It it grounded using a screw in the frame of the car right behind the seats when you pull them down. Is the grounding a problem then or could it also be the wriing of the RCA..I had futureshop do it for me. Does it have to be sanded to down to the bare metal?
Last time I had this much fun some furniture got broken!

could be the RCA. when you disconnect the ground then of course no noise, it cant get power anymore.
it could also be alternator noise so i don't know for sure.
ill wait till other people show how they solved this, cause i never had to.
edit: one quick thing, make sure there is no paint by the screw you ground with. get as much metal on metal contact as possible!

def make sure the there's no paint under the ground connection, if you wanna make sure its a good connection, use a star washer under the ground cable so it bites into the metal.
unfortunatly you cant blame the big boxes for noise issues, they have a disclaimer saying they arent responsible for system noise. Seems like every customer at the BB I work at seem to ignore all the disclaimers and blame us.

There's a couple of things you can try. First I'd suggest either sanding down your ground point or try grounding in another location. Also I'd suggest regrounding your head-unit. If that doesn't work then it's probably in your RCA's. Did you run them on the same side of the car as your power wire? Most people try to run the power line down the passenger side of the car and the RCA's down the driver's side to reduce the chance of interference. If none of these things work then you can try a ground loop isolator from Radio Shack. It's a length of RCA cable with a black box that will reduce your alternator noise. Use this step as a last resort though because it will only cover up the underlying problem.

Actually, I took it back to the shop where I got it done, and what it was is that the MTX amp that I was using was not giving a proper ground so in fact it was an amp problem, becuase when I asked them to hook up my crappy 4 channel kenwood instead, everything was ... no whine !!!
And yes I did sand down the area before, just to make sure thast there was sufficient contact with the metal.
