go to Auto Zone or whatever you have in your area and pick up a rocker switch, a fuse tap, and a relay (you can get all 3 for like $10)... the relay will have instructions on the packaging showing how to hook it up (if it doesn't, just do a search here or at sounddomain.com)... one of the prongs on the relay will be where you need to hook up a power supply, and that's where the fuse tap comes in (instructions should come with this item as well)... and finally, just wire up the switch (input, output, and ground) along the power lead...
that probably sounds confusing as hell, but i only have another minute or so before i gotta haul a$$ back to work... if you still need help in a couple hours, i'll stop back by and see what i can do for you... check out my web site (link in my signature!), there's a couple pics of my switch, relay, and fuse tap install on page 2... good luck!

another simple way...
get some 16gauge wire, inline fuse, and switch (rocker, toggle, etc...) run 12" of wire from the + side of the car battery, hook up the inline fuse, run the rest of the wire through the firewall to your switch.
or even just tap into the cig. lighter wire behind the dash. that was my method.
