SoundDeadenerShowdown goes live
I know it has been months, but I finally have the first version of www.sounddeadenershowdown.com
up and running.
It still needs a lot of work, but since I will not be able to get back to for several days, I wanted to at least get the basic information posted.
Quick summary - Dynamat Xtreme, RAAMmat BXT and SecondSkin Damplifier and Damplifier Pro are all very good products with different strengths and weaknesses. The rest, hmmm, you decide.

I liked Ocelaris's data and Bires's data back in the day, and the data that they compiled, which also appears to be a lot more indepth than yours.

Those school your site, but you've got some decent data up there, just need more info on other stuff. Oh, and for the price, Dynamat is an awful product. Install is the key with deadener.

I asked on this very forum if anyone wanted to contribute small samples of any product they wanted to see tested and there wasn’t a single taker. SecondSkin and RAAMaudio donated samples of their products and I bought the rest. As this develops, I will expand the range of products and the tests I use to compare them.
My interest in this was to create a central point with comparative data from which I could draw conclusions and others could do the same. I personally find it difficult to extract a lot of useful information from confrontational exchanges of the type you referenced. I am not as able as you are to grasp the “depth” contained within.
That being said, I will take issue with two points you make. Dynamat Xtreme is very expensive but can not fairly be called an awful product. It is in every aspect an excellent product. I consider it to be a poor value.
Finally, installation is certainly a key to effective deadening. There are, however, significant differences between the composition and characteristics of the materials available. Some influence the quality of the installation, some influence the durability of the installation over time and some influence the products usefulness as a dampening agent and secondarily as a barrier.

I said for the price it's an awful product. It's waaaaay over priced. The same material adn effectivenedss can be had much cheaper. I never once saw a post where you asked for samples. Regardless, the two posts I linked above, if you'll browse through them, contain loads of factual data. There are arguing in there, that you'll have to determine on your own.

I have read the posts you referenced, before I started this. They contain some useful information and some unsupported and completely false statements. Distinguishing between the two was the entire reason for this exercise.
You apparently did not read the review you are so anxious to disparage and dismiss because the value proposition you so insistently mistate is very clearly set forth, both in terms of quality and price - numbers, pictures and all.
If I inadvertently offended you in some previous interaction, I apologize. I'm just concerned that your reflexive impulse to stifle an attempt to expand our shared understanding of a topic pertinent to this forum seems counterproductive. I think most people here want to expand their own knowledge and help other members along the same path.
I'm delighted that you are comfortable with your grasp of automotive acoustics. Some of us need to work at it a little more. In the first day and a half that my report has been online, it has been read by more than 400 people and the response has been overwhelming positive. I personally consider it to be lacking in several fundamental areas, but until I can address those deficiencies, at least it is available to those that may find it helpful.
If it isn't your cup of tea - no problem at all.
