System help..can anyone tell me whats going on ?
ok heres the deal...i didnt changed out my old Headunit..so i bought the coverter so i could keep my stock deck.....i tapped the rear speaker wires to connect to the converter and then connected up the system like normal....now heres the thing...there is power to the amp and it turns on and off wit hthe car like i had wired it to do....the problem is that no sound is coming out of the subs...no bass at all ...i checked and rechecked the connects and even made sure the polarity was right.....i have no ****in clue whats going on ..i have the Tsunami converter .. idunno if anyone else has used it ....they said (the instructions that is ) that you could make a common ground ..and there is also a brown wire which they said that "If the thing is properly installed and you get no sound to connect it to the ground on the amp...." did thayt and still ntohing ?......if anyone knows what could possibly be the problem and could help me out that would be awesome ..thanks for ur help
they isnt an 'on' switch for the LOC ...it's just connected to the positive and negative speaker wires that go to each speaker....i'm thinking the amp could of blown cuz it wasnt the best made one ..so i dunno...thats the only thing i can think of ..i checked the grounds cuz a buddy of mine had the same problem.....but i dunno..what i need to do is find another working amp and test it out ...if it works then i know it;s the ****in amp...

of get a cd player or mp3 player and hook it up to the amp's inputs and set the volume to low intiially. if you get no sound outa the amp, you know thats the problem. if you get sounds, the LOC is the issue

If no sound comes out, the amp isnt doing its job.
I really think it's the amp...but before i go out and buy another amp i wanna check it someone elses to see ..cuz if i get sound then i know it's the frickin amp....but yea i just dont wanna spend that money for a new amp and then have it NOT be the amp
if your buddy got system....askhim if he can let u plug the rca wires to his amp...make sure his car is running...sound from your redio...connects to his amp....if he dont wont to unplug his amp...this is easyest way,..to chek....make sure u hve long enought rca wires to his amp....
anyway u should get better amp...dude

i will do wat he said.....should be like $4.00......try it in their parking lot.....test it then return it lol...
did you check connections inside the sub box? Also did you check the settings on the amp like gain and other options? Also double check the amp to see if it has speaker level inputs as well as RCA. There might be a switch that needs to be flipped to move it to the RCA inputs. If you have access to a multimeter you can check signal strength at all your connections, but i'm guessing you don't.
