HU wiring, which orange wire to use?
Here's a technical question for you. On my new HU, an Eclipse 54410, it has an illumination wire lead, and its orange. On the stock wiring harness, there are 2 illumination wires, an orange illumination, and an orange/white illumination dimmer.
I plan on using the the stock orange illumination wire, but would the orange/white make any difference, or is it to ONLY adjust the brightness? (IE, wouldn't make my new HU light up when powered)
Or, could I use the stock orange/white, and get an adjustable illumination?
Just wanted to see if any of you guys knew, if not, when I install my new HU, I'll just play with it and see.

you know what, i tried both n they both do the same thing for me.... my kenwoods headunit's button is always on... i'm thinking its always on cause of the headunit n not cause of my mistake
On the 54410 it is just a dimmer, when you turn your lights on it will dim your display. The older Eclipse hu's light up when you turned on your lights. SO hook that wire up to your illumination wire, orange. The orange/white wire varies voltage when your dimmer is turned, and won't do anything for you but possibly damage your dimmer circuit in your car.
