Subs Out, what about wires?
I GOT A QUESTION!!!!!
I am re-doing my trunk setup for my subs.
Here is what i have done (in order)
1. I disconnected the positive power for the subs (without disconnecting the positive for the rest of the car).
2. i then went and disconnected the negative battery, so i could work in the trunk.
3. i disconnected the grounds for the amps
4. disconnected the positive
5. disconnected the remote wire (in this case a little blue wire that tells the amps when to turn on and off)
NOW. I figure that the grounds and positive cables are alright, as the positive cable is now just a cable running from the engine bay on back to the trunk, and the grounds are just kinda sitting there.
WHAT ABOUT THE REMOTE WIRES?
AM I OK TO RECONNECT THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL ON THE BATTERY? (sub box is staying out for a little. too heavy to take in and out all the time)
LET ME KNOW!

ok. i got my answer. i cover up the remote wires, then i'm ok to turn the radio on and off. i i leave them exposed, and they touch metal, i'm screwed.
i have been talking about the remote wires, the little wire(s) that tell the amps when to be on or not.

just leave the remote wire in the amp, its not gonna hurt anything, it would tell the amp to turn on when you turn on your HU but since the amp is disconnected its not gonna do anything.

i'm sorry i did not say this in the original statement.
The Amp Is Not In The Car! Therefore, I have a remote wire going to the trunk with nothing to connect to. i got my answer of just wrap it up, and it should be fine!

I would say just tape it up and make sure it won't make contact with anything and you should be fine. If your wanna be really sure though, just crimp on a butt connector leaving the other side open, then tape over that (the plastic insulation of the connector will be a little added peice of mind).
