Power door locks only lock with remote?

Hello. I just purchased a 2004 EX this past weekend. Everytime I lock the doors from the inside of the car, they unlock a second after I lock them. It does it when I manually push the lock down, and when I use the swith that's inside the car that locks both doors.

However, when I lock the doors using the remote, they stay locked. I wasn't sure if this was common or not.

if the driver's door is open, hold the handle like you are opening the door while you lock it. supposed to help you not lock your keys inside the car.

Yes, it is while the drivers door is open... It happens when the drivers door is open, and I try locking the doors from the inside...

yeah like jgrow said, its a safety feature to help you from locking your keys in the car. You gotta hold the handle out while pressing the lock button

Thanks everyone for the replies... That's a cool feature.. We traded in our Ford Focus for the Civic, and I got locked out it once. I turned the car on in the winter time to let it warm up, and the doors locked themselves with the keys in it. It happend to my wife too.. I'm glad we traded that thing in..

THANKS AGAIN
