Yeah so I got my alarm installed
Went to Sound Investment ( authoirzed viper dealer ) here in NY to get my Viper 791VX put in for $150 and $50 for the transponder, owner was nice, didnt charge me tax, he asked me were i got my alarm cause supposedly it is illegal according to Directed.com to sell thier viper alarms online or just sell them uninstalled. He told me to if i want the warranty to buy it from them and have it installed is $700. So i told them SonixElectronix.com and i was like $250, so he was like WTF OMG, so he calls up Viper and they tell him they already sued Sonixelectronix several times, and they are going to close the site down soon and he also said to the owner that buying from them voided my warranty and to not be surprised if my alarm doesnt work in a couple of months...what a douche
well i guess it sux to be you. this is why if your getting something installed at a place that can get the part, just have that place get the part for you, this especially goes for mechanics and body shops. it pisses them off and they wont care if u have a problem most of the time. ( i know this isnt the case with you though) if i were you id call the place u got it from and act like you had no idea whats goin on with viper but u just decided to return it because your selling the car or sumthin like that. (i wasnt sure if u said u got it installed already). well good luck wit ur alarm i hope it dont have problems.
www.SonixElectronix.com is not there anymore...

no viper really will revoke your authorized dealer status if you dont install the alarm or if you give the vehicle owner the install manual. reson being dei has a good name and they dont need a bunch of ppl saying their car was destroyed by a viper or clifford. as far as the manual goes 2 out of 3 ppl who would come in because of alarm issues would admit they somehow got the install manual and tried to reprogram it. also the keypads can go for as much as 200 so buy the warranty on the transponder.

Thats for service, you don't charged sales tax for service. Just like when you buy warranties you don't get charged tax for them at least in the states.

See where i'm going with this?
They make more money and have less issues by doing business this way. They know there product is going to be installed correctly and offer the consumer years of reliability and satisfaction. When the customer gets a new car and decides to get another alarm, what do you think the consumer is going to do? Buy another Viper alarm or something made by DEI.
