Speakers...
i have an 05 ex special edition so it has 4 speakers and 2 tweeters in the front.. i also have that head unit that comes wit it (MP3 6 cd indash PANASONIC i think) ... does anyone know what brand the speakers r?... also... if i wanted the bass to hit a little bit harder... wat type of speakers would i have to get?... i dont want subs cuz there too loud for me.. i just want this stock to hit a harder than it does now.. i like it now though.. just a lil bit harder ... =] any info would be great!
then don't, u dont have to have subs, just get a nice set off 6.5s in the back if u wanna convert the back for 6x9s to 6.5 (cut a peice of wood into the shape....easy) and get a nice amp to power them, either way, components is the way to go.

go to walmart and get some pioneer 4.25 speakers for the front. get 6x9 speakers for the back. stay away from xplodes from sony. your speakers are stock honda speakers. if you want a harder hit, then get an aftermarket head unit that has at least 200 watts. more wattage to speakers will = harder hit. it won't always be clear if you turn it up but it will hit harder than stock. about the amp. you can get one for your speakers in the car. if you do get aftermarket speakers that can handle the power from the amp. also if you want an amp you will need an aftermarket head unit as well. components are your front 2 speakers and rear two speakers. those are kinda medium size for lack of a better word. tweeters are the two little speakers in the front of the car right above the dashboard. and subs are the big speakers. obviously. have fun
^^why 4.25? he can also get 5.25" or something cuz those will fit. if u want u can also put 6.5" speakers but its going to be hard fitting them in. i also read somewhere on this forum that the 04-05 speakers are low end pioneer speakers, i'm not sure on this but, can someone confirm this?

Stock speakers are pioneers.
Front speaker size is 6.5
Headunits aren't going to do the power they say. 12-14 watts per channel rms is tops, stock or aftermarket.
More bass, best bang for your buck? JL VR coaxials, or Adire Koda 6's

6x9 generally gives more, but not better, bass (some midbass and a little sub-bass) and tighter by design because of the effective mass moving area is larger than a 6.5. But it really depends on what type of 6x9 you are using. You can get some 6x9's which are crap and sound even worse than a 6.5". Try to build a box or baffle to seal off the rear 6x9 if using it. It will give you much better response.

I know, but since I don't have rear speaker, I have no idea on how it will hit the trunk spring. Anyway, it's always OK to build a wider but less depth box.
Anyway, our cars are NOT built to build a quality sound system though. Remove the door panel ake a look at the front door.............................................. .

oh yes, i know i know, but there is no way to build a box with those springs, i've been thinkin of putting a trunk shock on either side and taking those springs out so i'd have more room

anyway, i prefer 6x9s. and yeah 5.25 would be fine too. just making suggestions. i wish to know how this will turn out. and yeah an aftermarket head unit don't push what it advertises-neither does any speaker or amp. but it should make it hit harder than stock head units. bostons are good but expensive. go with the walmart stuff. youll be fine.

Lots of amps do their rated power, and then some. All of JL's amps do their rated power, at any input voltage due to the regulated internal power supply technology. Lots of others come to mind to, but you catch my drift.

its a way for them to make an easy buck with tech from the 80's. at the end of the day the only thing that has to do with alpine or pio is the logo. this way all the honda salesman can say alpine. aand sale it to some girl who heard alpine is the best. its kind of like that awesome 6 speaker 200 watt pio system they were pushin in the tc it was still just a toyota sound system. and anyone who works in car audio knows infinity gold in dymler-chrysler is the worst.
most likely not too many volvo owners are into car audio. so i didnt really hear those. but think of it as a company whos job is to sale cars for the highest profit. if they waste money on audio equipment and pay to have it installed they then pass it on to you then they will charge another grand for the car or they can put a special edition sticker on it and charge 5000 more
