How do i tell if myspeaker isblown?
I have the stock speakers in my EX COUPE.
just recently i noticed that the left speaker "burps" the bass. Like it sounds garbled and blurby. The tweets don't sound as crisp either.
The right side sounds crisp and regular.
Whats going on?
I tested this thoroughly by setting the fader to full left or full right. The left side definitely doesn't play the bass right and the tweeter doesnt sound as loud or clear.
Could thespeaker be blown? or maybe a pinched wire or something? whats the deal?

well its prolly blown then. usually blown speakers sound crunchy or don't play bass as loud as before. Open the door panel and take a look at the cone.

you could have bumped the grill and something could have hit the speaker or something. replacement aftermarket ones shouldn't cost more than 40 bucks. walmart pioneers. have fun

if there are tears around tha surround, it doesn't mean that they are blown... i resently blew a mtx roadthunder 7500 sub at a car show and did i ever blow this sub... but yea... it sound is just distorted by alot.. its not clear and when tha bass hits it makes a noise like sumthing is touching tha dust cap when nothing is touching it at all.. but anyway... stock speakers suck so just buy aftermarket ones cause they just simply sound better. i a set of alpine type s coaxils for only 98 bux...

well i checked the speaker this morning, its not ripped. HOWEVER, the "woofer" doesnt seem to move in and out smoothly. When pushing it back it seems to make a weird scratchy / crunchy sound as if its rubbing on something. Is this normal? i thought a speakers "woofeR" is supposed to be able to move in and out without making any noise?
I tested some more and the tweeters sound the same on both sides, so im assuming its not a pinched wire problem.
I guess the speaker is blown but not ripped? haha anyone wanna send me their stock speaker for free? i will pay the shipping.

Knowing whether a speaker is "blown" isn't found by just listening to it. The best way to know for sure is to put an ohnmeter to it and test for proper impeadence. A lot of times when the bass response of the speaker sounds distorted it could mean the speaker is out of phase (wires hooked up backwards) when you balance it right to left.

Stock HU also or Aftermarket? If Aftermarket was installed recently, I'd double check the wires and harness to see if any of the pins were bent. If one of the pins are bent this will most likely make the speakers sound like ***.

aftermarket headunit. its been unmoved and untouched for almost just as long. like 2-3 years. im 95% sure the wiring and pins are making proper contact. but physically the speaker didnt seem "healthy".
I guess to double check this even more, i should check my passenger side speaker and see if it makes that same noise when i move the cone in and out.
