Jbl 1000watt
ok, so my 5 year old rockford fosgate punches blew, the one popped and short circuited the other, so yea, time to get new subs, my local store can get me 2 10" JBL 1000 Watt subwoofers, i dont know what type, they just say 1000 WATT on them, does anybody know if they are good or has them?
how will they sound with a 450 2 channel watt amp?
thanks

well, i dont have those or havent heard them, but heres the link to the 10" dvc - http://www.jbl.com/car/products/prod...er=GTS&cat=SUB and heres the svc - http://www.jbl.com/car/products/prod...er=GTS&cat=SUB
as you can see they handle 250w rms, 1000 w peak. im guessing your 450w 2 channel is 450 peak. so no matter how you wire these, dvc or svc, you will probably be under powering them. no one will be able to tell you how they will sound, especially if you just say 450 2 channel watt amp. we dont know what kind of amp that is? you should be descriptive on these kinds of things. if you do get those subs, my suggestion is to get a more powerful amp.

most all amps are underrated except some if the top-end amps(JL or Kicker). but the Sony for instance is like a 1200 watt amp that'll only put out like 400 watts if that. so going with a JL is sure a investment you wont be dissappointed in. i have a JL 1000.1 & 13W7 and it works great, but get the warranty when u get nay choice. i blew my JL amp 6 months later. ive already saved my money by doing the warranty. so go with JL or something a lil bit more expensive, itll pay off in the long run.

alright, well i hooked up the wires and stuff, i was suprised, i did it myself, took awhile but its sounds bad ***, much better n louder then my old rockford fosgate punch subs
yeah play 'em but not at full power for about a week or so, that will break them in a bit and also break in the amps and get them used to playing with those subs (amps sort of "wear" into the speakers they are driving and will sound different after a few hours of play). After that tweak your gains and you'll be all set, pound away.
